Castalia
-
Oasis
As the sun hammers its blazing heat
Upon the drying clay and sand
I find some shade amidst scattered stones
On the horizon I see a tree
Reaching into the sky
As I walk I trip on scattered bonesI’m a hundred miles from nowhere
I hear echoes of a knell
I’m a hundred miles from somewhere
Where hungry creatures dwellThe moon shines quietly in the eve
While the nightlife stalks its prey
And I stagger on to find a tree
It’s out there waiting patiently
Knowing I’m on my way
I continue my quest, patientlyToday the sun is even hotter
Than it ever was before
I wring my shirt onto my swollen tongue
Death never seemed any closer
These rocks are rough and sharp
I will reach the top before I’m doneAt the top of these jagged cliffs
I’ve found what I have seen
An oasis in a world of death
Life in leaves of greenHalf-a mile from paradise
In a land of dust and heat
My mind relives some childhood fears
As I approach this welcomed sight
It begins to fade away
I fall upon it — it disappearsI’m a million miles from nowhere
I hear echoes of the knell
A million miles from nowhere
I stumbled into Hell… -
Castalia
Time has long since passed before me
As I dreamed of what would come
Sometimes sitting alone in darkness
My mind has grown weary and numbDesperately seeking inspiration
That special something of mind
That comes and goes in a blink of an eye
I can’t have left it far behindCastalia!
Weep, let me drink your tears
Cascade across my sullen fears
Pour on me your inspiration
That I may create for yearsGive me back a meaning for my life
So that I may carry on
To share with the rest of humanity
The reasons for any songCastalia!
Flow, for Muses’ sake
So that I may lie in your wake
Gently spill for others to gain
But shower me with your rain… -
Light in the Sky
“White and full of life it was. Brighter than light itself; it came as a brilliant flash.
I took a deep breath and sighed in exasperation — it seemed as if forever…And they called it a super-nova; I called it magnificent. And, though not as quickly as it had
come, it faded. The colors of all that were alive filled the sky — then it was gone…”The night sky lit up
The glare broke through the darkness
Stars and the waning moon faded away
For a moment time stood still
As sometimes it will
It came as if to stayThings will come
And things will go
And when they do
No one can know
Why they come to stay
But end up going awayIt appeared so greatly
Then died with equal magnitude
All the greatest colors of a rainbow’s yawn
For a moment life stood still
As sometimes it will
Then all of it was gone… -
Sixth Sense
The whisper of the wind
The roar of the ocean
Telekinesis
Is mind in motionPower over weakness
Mind over matter
The end or infinity
Mind lost in the latterYou can taste, feel and see
Body working in harmony
Used to advantage or defense
The power of the mind’s much more intenseTelekinesis
Turns thought into action
Sensory deprivation
A delayed reactionImprinted images

A Dying Power
It glows — it grows
It reaches out to those who care
It hardens and slows
Always without a spare
To keep it growing
Just a little bit longerAbused and alone
It seeks out its own kind
Strange and unknown
It must try one more time
To find love
And become
Just a little bit strongerAn ancient force
Of dying power
Seems to fade
Hour by hour
But all it takes
Is a little bit of patience
For all it knows
It’ll find the power
To carry on —
Carry on with its dreams… -
Unicorn Reality
In the heat of the night
Run rampant our thoughts
So we cage them in the light
Held at bay by our pin-striped minds
Surrendering to shadows of doubtWe close our eyes
To the world we see
We’re so frightened by the glare
Escaping to and from ourselves
Hiding the enemy withinFeigning consciousness of thought
Confronting obscurity
With an open mind —
Open to imagination…
And a sealed door
Closed to those
Who have no dreams…In the reality of light
Deception has such might
Unleashed upon innocent minds
Those ignorant of its power soon find
They are victims of their own doubtWe open our eyes
To the world we’ve made
And we’re frightened and unaware
That escaping to and from ourselves
Releases the enemy within… -
Csintar
(Trainer of Thoughts)
Careful concentration
And silent contemplation
Shall guide you through
A world of fascination…See not with your eyes
Hear not with your ears
Utter not a single sound
Don’t believe what you’ve been told
For the truth you may already hold
Or, indeed, it may not be found.Let the imagination run wild
As it did when you were just a child! Now live out your dream
To its full extent
But if you stop it short
You’ll lose its whole intent.Thinker
Dreamer
Unsure believer
Be your wonder
Live your thoughts
Experience your dream… -
Empyreus
Here I am again
Trapped in empty space
I wonder who I am
And why I’m in this placeI am silent peace
Growing and unknown
I wander throughout time
Without a place to goI don’t exist
But without me
Nothing else would beI cannot be seen
Yet I cannot hide
How can I be so full
And feel so empty insideI am loneliness
Immune to night and day
I am the Universe
And I think I’ll be okay… -
The Darklight
Standing on the edge of the Pharaoh’s tomb
Wall emitting light
The natives know they all are doomed
They stand motionless with fright
No one moves — timeless waiting
Amidst the anxious night…Silver and gold
As they were told
Lay buried amongst the dead
Yet they knew
What they must do
To take it all insteadAn ominous feeling hangs in the air
The natives turn and flee
Those in greed tremble and stare
In frightened disbelief
The crypt is opened slowly with care
Photographers stealing the sceneVicious colors of amber and red
Startling evermore
Growing strong in the Pharaoh’s den
The light takes shape and form
A furious tremble shakes the men
As their hearts and souls are tornLife and death
A glowing breath
A dark and silent sign
Hope and fear
Are nowhere near
But are now combinedThe darklight slowly surrounds them each
Power and evil are teamed
They realize now what they’ve unleashed
They claw trying to scream
They twist and crumble from the awesome shriek
And dissolve into a dream… -
Experience Our Life
I woke up this morning
To see the sun come up
Not knowing if it would come up againI watch the birds fly by
As they sing their little songs
And they watch me as if I was their friend“Come be with us” they called
“Experience our life”
But I knew that it could never be“Come take to the skies
And be with us awhile
You can fulfill your wildest dreams…”
